Hands On House Manager/Assistant to start ASAP - 2-3 Month Contract

  London, West End
Temporary

DOE

A fantastic opportunity for a highly organised, hands-on House Manager / Assistant to support an American Principal in the final stages of setting up a new London home in Belgravia with an immediate start. This is a fast-paced, project-focused role for someone who is practical, resourceful and exceptionally well connected, with the ability to make things happen quickly and efficiently.

The successful House Manager / Assistant will take ownership of the project from start to finish — coordinating suppliers and contractors, sourcing and ordering items, overseeing deliveries and installations, and ensuring the house is completed and ready for occupation within a very tight timeframe.

The Role

You will be responsible for:

  • Taking a hands-on approach to the overall set-up and completion of the home.
  • Measuring spaces, sourcing items, placing orders and coordinating deliveries.
  • Overseeing the installation of furniture, fixtures, fittings and household items.
  • Managing and coordinating trusted local contractors, tradespeople and suppliers.
  • Bringing your own little black book of reliable, high-quality London contacts.
  • Overseeing the production, delivery and installation of soft furnishings.
  • Troubleshooting issues quickly and finding practical solutions.
  • Keeping track of multiple moving parts, deadlines, deliveries and installations.
  • Working closely with the Principal to understand priorities and ensure everything is completed to a high standard.
  • Taking responsibility for the final details and ensuring the property is beautifully presented, fully functional and move-in ready.

The successful candidate must have previous experience in private households, house management, property projects, interiors or luxury residential environments with a strong network of trusted and reliable contacts. Candidates must be available immediately for 2/3 months.

We are looking for someone with the flexibility and stamina to be hands-on and involved in the detail, rather than simply delegating. Discretion, professionalism and excellent communication skills required. This would suit someone who thrives on getting things done, enjoys a fast-moving environment and takes real satisfaction from transforming a property from work in progress into a finished, polished home.
